Cemetery Commission adopts new eligibility requirements for burial lots

Cemetery Commission · Meeting of February 3, 2026

Lincoln Cemetery Commission adopts age and residency eligibility rules for lot purchases. The commission voted to require that residents purchasing burial lots be 70 years of age or older and have resided in the Town of Lincoln for a minimum of 20 years. Chair Manley Boyce proposed reconfiguring the Fern Way burial section by reducing lot sizes from 4 by 12 feet to 4 by 8 feet to improve access for DPW operations during interments.

The commission also accepted a land swap plan with the Conservation Commission, pending formal legal documentation, and reviewed draft natural burial regulations.
