Cemetery Commission dedicates Fern Way to Natural Burials

LINCOLN — Cemetery Commission votes to open Fern Way to Natural Burials. The Commission unanimously approved dedicating the northern section of Fern Way to Natural Burials and authorized $25,000 in immediate survey work to prepare the grounds. The Commission also unanimously voted to support a municipal land swap that will allow the Cemetery to manage approximately 0.3 acres currently landscaped and prepared for burials.
Three Warrant Articles will go to the March Town Meeting, including a $50,000 transfer from the Sale of Lots account for cemetery expansion, maintenance, and improvement, which the Commission unanimously supported.
