Lincoln's Community Center building committee authorized $100,000 for unexpected ledge blasting during construction. The committee voted to authorize the ledge removal, to be performed via blasting and tentatively scheduled for August 24 while the daycare is closed, with preliminary estimates near $50,000 against a not-to-exceed of $100,000. The committee also approved $233,833 in architect and project management contract extensions through December 31, 2026, which will consume 53 percent of the original schedule contingency and signal potential delays beyond the contractor's October 6 substantial completion deadline.
Four additional change orders were approved addressing design coordination gaps: $16,345 for roof drainage improvements, $8,085 for attic access assemblies, $1,866 for millwork revisions, and a $3,540.58 credit for flooring installation methods. Construction has reached approximately 40 percent completion with substantially increased crew deployment.
