Dark Skies Committee approves prior minutes, plans street light outreach.
Dark Skies Committee · Meeting of April 1, 2026
LINCOLN — Dark Skies Committee approves prior minutes and advances compliance survey and street light planning. Chair Sherry Haydock is compiling purchasing options for compliant fixtures from vendors including Lamps Plus and barnlight.com while Ken Hurd researches options and contacts town officials. An ongoing resident lighting survey has reached 200 respondents and closes April 15; Haydock will promote participation via Lincoln Talk and Susan Katz Sliski will develop educational modules from the data.
The committee will begin formal street light discussions with the town in May, drawing on survey results and specifications being gathered by committee members. Separately, Ginny Lemire reported that Commons street lights contain noncompliant metal halide bulbs requiring replacement and disposal coordination.
