Dark Skies Committee refines street lighting proposal, expands membership

Dark Skies Committee · Meeting of May 13, 2026

LINCOLN — The Dark Skies Committee refined a street lighting proposal and advanced plans to present findings by late September. The committee approved appointment of Craig as an official member and Susan Mygatt as a non-voting Planning Board representative. Susan Katz Sliski is finalizing lighting survey analysis for future presentation, while Louise and Susan Katz Sliski will develop a grant-writing strategy targeting light-meter purchases.

The committee agreed to shift its complaint approach toward education and advocacy rather than enforcement, and will audit Oriole Landing in September after identifying several noncompliant lights.
