Lincoln's Dark Skies Committee refined zoning bylaw amendments addressing residential outdoor lighting, removing diffused luminaires and modifying the maximum luminance standard to 900 lumens per exterior door multiplied by 1.5. Craig Nicholson coordinated feedback from the Planning Board, which committed to providing further comments before its February 24 meeting. Tim Higgins committed to engaging a consultant from the Lexington Public Works department to assess and modify existing street light fixtures.
Town Building Inspector Jon Metivier expressed support for multiple enforcement mechanisms to address noncompliant lighting at the Commons, including fines and withholding occupancy permits.
