Green Energy Committee approves Eversource data request, eyes Class 1 REC pause

Green Energy Committee · Meeting of June 18, 2026

LINCOLN — Green Energy Committee backs Eversource data request and REC pause framework. The GEC voted 7-0-1 to request anonymized electricity account data through Paul Gromer, covering solar adoption, heat pump enrollment, and billing rates. Members polled unanimously in support of draft proposals to pause voluntary Class 1 renewable energy credit collection, authorize a revolving fund at October Special Town Meeting if the Town confirms, engage Lincoln Land Conservation Trust as escrow alternative, and expand the state-approved plan to include climate mitigation and adaptation investments beyond Class 1 RECs.

Shorb and interested members will prepare final draft language for GEC vote at July 2.
