Green Energy Committee approves rate comparison outreach, battery grant push.

LINCOLN — Green Energy Committee greenlights rate publicity and state battery storage grant bid. Committee members Gray, Kern, and Sullivan will draft materials comparing Lincoln Green Energy Choice rates favorably to Eversource's latest residential offerings for publication in the town newsletter and Select Connect. In a separate push, Harvey, Rodman, and Shorb will review a municipal decarbonization plan from newly hired Municipal Energy Manager Power Options before it goes to MassSave.
Rodman reported the Department of Energy Resources is offering 47 million dollars in grants for municipal battery systems, with application for technical consultant assistance due January 23 and final proposals due March 13; the committee authorized Rodman and Harvey to prepare that application, identifying water treatment plant and community center as likely candidates.
