Green Energy Committee charts course for revising energy choice program.

Green Energy Committee · Meeting of May 7, 2026

LINCOLN — Green Energy Committee votes to recommend installing conduit at community center to preserve future battery storage option. Chair Paul Shorb and members including Roy Harvey, Laurie Gray, and Anne Sobol met virtually May 7 to advance a proposal reshaping the Lincoln Green Energy Choice program, working toward a Select Board presentation on May 18. The committee is considering redirecting voluntary extra payments now used for Renewable Energy Certificates toward climate-mitigation projects.

Discussion included site options from residential roofs to a Town-owned conservation parcel called the poison ivy field, with emphasis on maximizing climate impact per dollar spent.
