LINCOLN — Green Energy Committee endorses overhaul of Lincoln Green Energy Choice program. The committee voted 7-0, with one absent, to recommend that the Select Board initiate state-mandated revisions to redirect voluntary extra payments away from Class 1 renewable energy certificates toward a climate mitigation fund approved by the Select Board. Committee liaison Jennifer Glass confirmed state law requires 30 days of public notice and comment.
Paul Gromer of Peregrine Energy Group noted that Governor Healy has twice redirected Alternative Compliance Payments to ratepayer relief rather than climate programs. The GEC will meet May 7 and 14 to develop a formal proposal for the May 18 Select Board meeting.
