Housing Commission · Meeting of March 12, 2026

Lincoln Housing Commission deferred exterior painting work at town-owned units pending lead testing. Co-Chair Rachel Drew reported that three of seven town-owned residential units had possible lead paint concerns; the selected contractor could use lead-safe stabilization but was not licensed for full remediation. Commissioners discussed legal and practical implications, including that positive tests could trigger mandatory remediation and delay the work, and agreed to gather more information by April.

The Commission also discussed re-renting a vacant town unit and received two bids for a maintenance coordinator position, deferred due to conflict-of-interest considerations. The Commission reaffirmed its prior vote to proceed with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council's Housing Action Plan.
