L-S committee approves three-year superintendent contract amid pandemic planning sprint
LINCOLN — October 27, 2023 — L-S committee approves three-year superintendent deal as it builds a coronavirus continuity plan. Superintendent Bella Wong told the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee on March 10 that a learning continuity committee met formally for the first time that day, drawing on closure plans from the American School in Singapore and schools in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Milan. Commissioner Jeffrey Riley moved the deadline after which missed days need not be made up from April 1 to March 15 and reaffirmed a 185-day cap; the "blizzard bag" pilot was cancelled March 6. The committee voted unanimously to authorize Chair Ellen Joachim to sign Wong's new contract running July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023, and separately approved a three-year, $10,500 policy-manual contract with MASC. Wong said all international trips through April have been cancelled, with some vendors offering only 50 percent refunds because they are "on the brink of bankruptcy."
