Library Launches Teen Reverse-Painting Workshop Amid Construction Detours

The Lincoln Public Library is advising patrons to plan for extra travel time this week because of ongoing construction affecting Library Lane and library parking; residents can check lincolnbigdig.com for updates. Despite the construction disruption, the library's summer calendar remains active: today, July 10, brings a "Pop Up Art School for Ages 11-19: Reverse Painting," a hands-on session introducing teens to the centuries-old reverse painting technique, along with a meeting of the Friday Morning Book Group, described by the library as "Lincoln's longest running book group," which is currently reading and discussing banned and challenged books.

The library also flagged several other recent items of note for residents, including the addition of four new WiFi hotspots to its lending collection, available for checkout for family trips, and a reminder that library cardholders can borrow passes to Massachusetts State Parks through the Reference Desk. The library is also honoring outgoing Trustee Peter Sugar as he steps down from the Library Board, and has opened submissions for the Virginia Rundell Award as well as launched its second annual Seed Library.
