Library Trustees advance camera policy, seek building expertise for next recruit
Library Trustees · Meeting of March 26, 2026
LINCOLN — Library Trustees vote to submit security camera policy to Town Counsel. The board advanced recruitment for two trustee vacancies: Lucy Maulsby's School Committee-appointed seat expiring in April, and a self-perpetuating position seeking candidates with architecture, construction, engineering, and historic preservation expertise to replace outgoing member Peter Sugar. Library Director Melissa Roderick reported FY2025 statistics show Lincoln leading neighboring libraries despite rising digital material costs and program restructuring toward higher-impact community events; the library sits at 72 percent of budget with 75 percent of fiscal year complete, electricity costs at 90 percent expended but covered within building operations.
