Lincoln Library Honors Trustee Peter Sugar as He Steps Down

LINCOLN — The Lincoln Public Library is honoring longtime Trustee Peter Sugar as he steps down from the Library Board of Trustees, even as the library launches its second annual seed-lending program and lines up a slate of July events, including a July 20 talk on Black Revolutionary War history tied to the nation's 250th anniversary.

The Lincoln Public Library is recognizing Peter Sugar for his service as he departs the Library Board of Trustees, according to a notice posted on the library's website. The library did not detail the length of Sugar's tenure or name a successor.

Separately, the library has opened its second annual Seed Library, giving cardholders access to free seeds for home gardening, and is accepting submissions for the Virginia Rundell Award, a library recognition program. Full criteria for both are posted on the library's news page.

Residents heading to the library should plan for extra travel time: ongoing construction on Library Lane is complicating access and parking, the library said, directing questions to lincolnbigdig.com.

COMING UP

The Lincoln Public Library has three programs set for Monday, July 20. "Craft & Chill: Vision Boards" offers a relaxed evening of craft-making. Mystery Mondays will discuss "The Coroner's Lunch" by Colin Cotterill. And as part of the town's America's 250th commemoration, independent historian Gracia Collins Rich will speak on the Black experience of the Revolution.
