Lincoln School Committee accepts two finalists for superintendent post

LINCOLN — March 1, 2012 — Lincoln School Committee accepts McFall and Ravenelle as superintendent finalists. The committee unanimously advanced Wellesley K-12 curriculum director Rebecca McFall and Fitchburg Superintendent Andre Ravenelle from a 40-applicant pool — what consultant Bill Garr of Future Management Systems called the largest field his firm had seen in any search. Screening committee chair Julie Dobrow said the panel of 12 interviewed eight candidates over three nights and required prior central-office experience in budget, personnel, and contract negotiations. Public coffees, a Hanscom session, and televised interviews are set for March 6 and March 8, with site visits to follow. Members also approved a $658,274.53 payroll warrant, a $143,370.50 accounts payable warrant, and a sixth-grade Museum of Science overnight using 100 prepaid CharlieCards.
