Lincoln School Committee approves dual Hanscom budget, cuts athletic fee to $175
LINCOLN — March 29, 2012 — Lincoln School Committee reorganizes, approves dual Hanscom budget and athletic fee cut. The committee unanimously elected Jennifer Glass as chair and confirmed Tom as vice chair at its March 29 meeting before approving a series of budget actions affecting both campuses. Members authorized a $15,220 redistribution within the $9.7 million Lincoln appropriation — including expanding summer Achievement Camp and increasing a math content specialist position from 0.2 to 0.4 FTE — and voted to authorize both a Band 3 Hanscom budget of approximately $10.985 million and a fallback Band 2 budget of roughly $10.826 million, with administrators directed to proceed at Band 3. The district sits just nine students above the Band 3 enrollment threshold, with a $159,000 swing between bands. The committee also reduced the per-sport athletic fee from $200 to $175, drawing down a roughly $25,000 surplus in the athletic revolving fund, and agreed to add a voluntary donation line on registration forms directing contributions to the Legacy Gift Fund, which is projected to end the fiscal year with a negative balance.
