Lincoln Schools Open Monday With Early Dismissal, Days Off Close Behind

LINCOLN — Lincoln Public Schools students return for a full day Monday, Aug. 31, but the calendar turns quickly after that, with an early dismissal and two no-school days packed into the opening two weeks of September.

Lincoln Public Schools' three campuses open for the 2026-2027 year Monday, Aug. 31, with a full day running 8 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. The break from routine comes fast: Wednesday, Sept. 2 brings the year's first early dismissal, with students out at 12:35 p.m., and there is no school at all Friday, Sept. 4, or Monday, Sept. 7. The district's updated Student-Family Handbook for 2026-2027 is now posted on the LPS website, covering the preschool campuses plus Hanscom School K-8, led by Principal Erich Ledebuhr; Lincoln School K-4, led by Principal Sarah Collmer; and Lincoln School 5-8, led by Principal Jay Peledge.

Separately, Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, the regional district serving Lincoln and Sudbury students together, has launched a new website and said it is still migrating content over, with the district directing families to its ParentSquare app for the latest updates.
