LINCOLN -- May 10, 2010, Lincoln Select Board advances 12 Airport Road affordable housing plan and reappoints three commissions. Town Administrator Tim Higgins told the board on May 10 he will file a Zoning Board of Appeals application this week, with a June 17 hearing, seeking to reconstruct a residential dwelling at the town-owned site for an affordable housing group home, addressing a projected five-unit shortfall against Lincoln's 10 percent Chapter 40B requirement when the 2010 Census is released. Higgins also reported the town's EMTs ranked first among 40 departments nationally in Pro Ambulance's first-quarter 2010 customer satisfaction survey, and that Lincoln issued $5.7 million in bonds and $2.1 million in BANs while maintaining its AAA rating. The board reappointed members to the Disabilities Commission, Agricultural Commission and Cultural Council; Cultural Council member Barbara Low warned that without a chair the council "is not legal," prompting new appointee Lisa to volunteer as co-chair. Ian Wilkins was appointed to the DPW from a field of eight finalists.
