Lincoln Select Board appoints water commissioner, approves Pierce House budget

LINCOLN — May 9, 2022 — Lincoln Select Board approves first formal Pierce House budget and delays pride flag vote pending policy. The board unanimously approved an FY23 status-quo Pierce House budget projecting $159,300 in flat-fee revenue at 75 percent utilization, with Director Victoria Otis noting 80 events already booked for 2022 and a roughly $40,000 town subsidy continuing for now. Peter Braun told the board the committee is effectively "administering a trust fund" with about $370,000 in expendable balance. The board appointed Steve Gladstone to the Water Commission on a 5-0 joint roll call and approved an EL-3 entertainment license for the Tack Room 2-0, with Jonathan Dwyer recused. A request from Lincoln-Hanscom SAGA students to fly the progress pride flag was continued to May 23 after Town Counsel Joel Bard briefed the board on the Supreme Court's 9-0 Shurtleff v. Boston ruling; Dwyer said he wanted a written policy first.
