Lincoln Select Board calls May 17 special election to handle debt exclusions

LINCOLN — January 11, 2021 — Lincoln Select Board splits its spring election and stands up a local vaccine plan. The board voted 3-0 Monday to call a special town election for May 17 to handle anticipated debt-exclusion questions — including roughly $1.5 million for a public-safety radio project and about $300,000 for a fire-engine refurbishment — after pushing annual town meeting to May 15. Town offices returned to a fully remote model the same day; Public Health Nurse Trish McGean reported 128 cumulative cases with 16 added since Jan. 1, and said the town's public-health team is planning local vaccination clinics at Lincoln North using the regional paramedic program. "There is no wait list," McGean told residents, urging them to contact primary care providers first. The board also appointed Michelle Grisenda, currently Weston's conservation administrator, as conservation director succeeding 20-year director Tom Gumbart, and named Rihanna Woo and Julian Huertas to the Zoning Board of Appeals over a third candidate, John Door.
