Lincoln Selectmen swear in Kevin Kennedy as next police chief
LINCOLN — June 9, 2014 — Lincoln promotes Kevin Kennedy to police chief and licenses Turtle Creek Winery for tastings. The Board of Selectmen on June 9 swore in Lt. Kevin Kennedy as chief effective July 1, with Town Administrator Tim Higgins calling the appointment "evidence of the investment that Kevin Mooney has made in all of his people." The board also unanimously approved a farmer-series pouring license for Kip Kumler's Turtle Creek Winery on Beaver Pond Road, which produces about 1,000 cases a year and reported roughly $2,400 in 2013 tasting revenue. Selectmen deferred a decision on whether to waive the $1,500 town license fee, with Selectman Peter Braun warning against "ad hoc waiving." In other action, the board appointed Diana Chirita to the Housing Commission, recommended Alan Vandermeulen to the governor for a second seat, and set Nov. 15 for the State of the Town meeting.
