Select Board backs Dark Skies Bylaw ahead of Town Meeting

Select Board · Meeting of March 28, 2026

LINCOLN — Select Board backs Dark Skies Bylaw on 2-1 vote before annual meeting. Jennifer Glass, Select Board Chair, dissented, citing concerns about disparate treatment under the proposal's 10 PM curfew, which would apply only to new construction and substantial renovations. Kim Bodnar, Select Board Member, supported the article but urged the Dark Skies Committee to conduct a vigorous resident education campaign to prevent confusion and reduce calls to the Building Inspector.

A Dark Skies Study Committee representative explained the grandfathering provision was necessary given the bylaw's zoning structure rather than general bylaw format.
