Superintendent finalist McFaul interviewed by Lincoln School Committee
LINCOLN — March 8, 2012 — Wellesley curriculum director Becky McFaul pitches Lincoln on values match in superintendent finalist interview. Dr. Becky McFaul, Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Wellesley Public Schools, fielded 12 prepared questions from the Lincoln School Committee on March 8 after a full day touring the Smith and Brooks buildings. Members Al Schmertzler and Carol Perkins were absent and slated to review the recording. McFaul endorsed heterogeneous classroom grouping over separated gifted tracks, citing her own magnet-school experience of being told students were "the cream of the crop." On the pending Lincoln-campus and Hanscom building projects, she cited Wellesley's just-opened high school as relevant detail-management experience. She told the committee Lincoln is the only superintendency she applied for. The committee adjourned at 8:27 p.m. without action.
