Transportation Coalition votes to eliminate slip lane, advance Ballfield Road redesign

Transportation Coalition · Meeting of May 28, 2026

LINCOLN — Transportation Coalition unanimously approves slip lane elimination and Ballfield Road redesign. Chair Margaret Olson reported Police and School Department support for the permanent closure, with John Vancor tasked to develop preliminary design and cost estimates following Select Board approval. The coalition plans to submit a Capital Planning Committee budget request in late fall, targeting a funding vote at the March 2027 Annual Town Meeting.

A road pavement analysis using vehicle-mounted sensing technology will assess approximately 50 miles of Lincoln's roads over two to three days, weather dependent.
