Water Commission approves 13 percent rate increase for fiscal 2027

Water Commission · Meeting of March 17, 2026

Lincoln Water Commission votes on 13% rate hike for fiscal 2027. Chair Stephen Gladstone oversaw unanimous approval of the increase, which applies uniformly to base rates and consumption charges. The Commission also approved an abatement for a Winter Street property, reducing a $33,000 bill to first tier rates after a major leak consumed 934,000 gallons.

Nine contractors bid $3.5 million to $6 million for Phase 2 water main replacement; the consulting firm Woodard and Curran is reviewing bids with a recommendation expected by the April meeting.
