Water Commission approves January minutes; advances 13% rate increase proposal.

Water Commission · Meeting of February 10, 2026

LINCOLN — Water Commission approves January minutes and advances 13 percent rate increase proposal. Matheus Alexandre of Waterworth presented a financial forecast showing the increase is necessary to cover debt service spikes from the Bedford/Lincoln Road water main replacement project, town-wide meter replacement, and a one-time accounts receivable payment. Without the increase, retained earnings would likely deplete by 2031 or 2032.

Two major projects, costing approximately $8.4 million and $390,000 respectively, are underway and expected to conclude in 2028. The first of two rate hearings is scheduled February 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
