Water Commissioners approve December minutes, phase 2 water main work on track for June start
Water Commission · Meeting of January 13, 2026
Lincoln Water Commissioners unanimously approved prior minutes and confirmed Phase 2 water main replacement begins June 1, 2026. The two-year project requires coordinated drainage repairs on Bedford and Trapelo Roads and a Lincoln Road crosswalk, with construction limited to 8:30 AM through 4:30 PM to minimize school-traffic impact. The Tower Road Well, operational since October, triggered revised state sampling requirements: 20 lead and copper samples twice yearly for three years, with residents receiving 25-dollar water bill credits.
The department's meter-base fee waiver program serves 67 individuals, costing approximately 10,000 dollars annually, and commissioners recommended a dedicated FY2027 budget line of 4,000 dollars or more to track non-revenues.
