Water Commission · Meeting of April 21, 2026

Lincoln Water Commissioners approve $5.4M Phase 2 water main replacement contract, ending under budget. Chair Stephen Gladstone, Commissioner Patrick Lawler, and Commissioner Matthew Bio unanimously backed the Granese and Sons Inc. agreement, which includes a base bid of $3.59 million (Ballfield Road to Codman Road) and Alternate A of $669,131 (Codman Road to Route 117). Water Superintendent Richard Nolli reported unaccounted-for water spiked from 9.4 percent to 16.9 percent due to billing discrepancies and losses during main replacement work; the department is switching to advanced leak detection company EJ Prescott and researching hydrant-mounted monitoring devices.

Construction begins May 22 to June 19, 2026, with final paving projected for 2028.
