Lincoln Schools Superintendent Sends Welcome Back Message to Families

LINCOLN — Lincoln Public Schools' superintendent sent a welcome-back message to district families on Aug. 20, marking the unofficial start of the run-up to the new school year, which opens for all students on Aug. 31.

The superintendent's welcome message, posted to the district website Aug. 20, greeted returning Lincoln Public Schools families and welcomed new families joining the district for the 2026-2027 year. The district has also posted its 2026-2027 Student-Family Handbook online for families to review ahead of classes.

COMING UP

Lincoln Public Schools will hold Kindergarten and Preschool Visits on Friday, Aug. 28, giving incoming kindergartners, preschoolers and their families a chance to meet teachers and learn about the programs; times vary by school. The same day, students in grades 1 through 8 can stop by their schools for Meet and Greets to see their classrooms and say hello to teachers, with times also varying by school.
