Lincoln Select Board approves police contract featuring body camera stipend

LINCOLN — March 7, 2022 — Lincoln Select Board approves police contract with body-camera stipend ahead of town meeting. The board voted 3-0 Monday to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement that Town Administrator Tim Higgins said includes a body-worn camera stipend and an accreditation-maintenance stipend, in addition to wages that "will keep us competitive with the towns around us." Member Jennifer Glass urged the department to prepare a public FAQ explaining "are they on all the time, do they have the right to ask that they're turned off." The board also voted 3-0 to authorize a final $8.5 million tranche of school construction bonds and 3-0 to approve a conservation restriction over a 4.3-acre Zero Conant Road parcel abutting roughly 235 acres of already-protected land. Green Energy Committee Chair Paul Schwerb previewed Article 31, a fossil-fuel hookup home-rule petition; Higgins warned the detailed draft risks "parsing of a very significant bylaw on the floor of town meeting."
