Lincoln Select Board takes up health committee report, Hollingsworth bid

LINCOLN -- September 27, 2010, Lincoln Select Board takes up health committee priorities and revised Hollingsworth bid. The Community Health Assessment Project, led by Recreation Director and co-chair Dan Pereira, delivered a draft report Sept. 27 naming tick-borne disease, vulnerable seniors, pressure on youth, roadside path safety and public education as the town's top five health priorities, and is pursuing up to $25,000 in implementation funding from CHNA 15 by Oct. 15. Selectman Sarah Mattes pushed for immediate action on deer management, citing roughly 10 of 20 nearby homes affected by Lyme disease, while Selectman Noah Eckhouse said the town should publish guidance for private landowners before deer season, "Why wait on this one?" Town Administrator Tim Higgins reported the Hollingsworth property bid documents have been reopened to allow a possible teardown and a house up to 5,000 square feet, with a bidders' conference Nov. 1. The capital list includes a $664,000 paving placeholder, a $6 million town offices plug and $58,000 for the Codman Farm barns.
