Lincoln Selectmen approve Conant Road curb cut, sign Solarize Mass contract

LINCOLN — May 21, 2012 — Lincoln joins three-town Solarize Mass consortium and approves Conant Road curb cut. The Board of Selectmen voted Monday to execute a Solarize Mass participation contract — pending Selectman Peter Braun's final legal review — committing Lincoln to a roughly $2,000 co-marketing fund split with Sudbury and Wayland under the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center program. Green Technology Committee Chair John Snell and "solar coach" Jenny Morris said the consortium gives Lincoln access to a 36,000-resident pool and tiered installer pricing that drops as more households sign on; Harvard reached 70 sign-ups in last year's pilot while three peer towns averaged 26. The board also unanimously approved a relocated driveway at 24 Conant Road presented by engineer Ted Doucette of Samiotes Consultants, conditioning approval on a 12-foot maximum width. Town Administrator Tim Higgins reported the Senate Ways and Means FY13 budget came in roughly $168,000 above Lincoln's working forecast, and the board signed the warrant for a June 18 special town meeting on a roughly $94,000 Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School supplemental assessment.
