Lincoln selectmen approve May launch for new Civic Plus town website

LINCOLN — November 19, 2012 — Lincoln selectmen endorse May 16 website launch and clash with Housing Commission over draft production plan. The board unanimously backed IT Director Chuck Miller's selection of Civic Plus to rebuild the 2005-era town website, with on-site training April 29 through May 3, a four-year refresh cycle, and the same launch week as the renovated town offices. Selectman Peter Braun pressed Housing Commission Chair Pam Gallup on consultant Judy Barrett's draft, citing mismatched comparison-town data, federal census figures roughly 10 percent below Lincoln's local count, and a Hanscom "elephant in the room" slide he called inconsistent with state agreements backing Hanscom out of the SHI denominator. Gallup, calling Braun's approach "very combative," said Barrett used the only data available. Board Chair Noah Eckhaus emphasized the favorable takeaway: Lincoln is projected to remain above the 10 percent threshold through 2020 without substantial new town investment. The board also approved a $30,000 Finance Committee transfer to retain the school project's architects and OPM during the MSBA pause.
