Lincoln selectmen authorize multi-town comment letter on Jet Aviation Hanscom expansion
LINCOLN — November 4, 2013 — Lincoln selectmen clear Hanscom comment letter and hear eighth-grade bike-rack petition. The Board of Selectmen unanimously authorized Chair Peter Braun to sign a multi-town HATS letter challenging Jet Aviation's proposed Hanscom Field expansion — including a 16,000-square-foot office building, expanded hangar and parking, and wetland-buffer work at the Shawsheen headwaters — before the Nov. 18 Massport comment deadline. "Where's the plan? Where's the backdrop of a plan? The HATS communities have been asking for this for a decade," Braun said. Selectman Renel Fredrickson noted Jet Aviation could not say how many additional flights the project would generate. The board also authorized Finance Director Colleen to open a gift account for restoration of the three Bemis paintings, estimated at up to $10,000, and heard from seven Lincoln School eighth-graders moving a citizens' petition for new $300 bike racks toward spring town meeting.
