Lincoln Selectmen back Drumlin Farm campaign and tot pool funding plan

LINCOLN — December 17, 2012 — Lincoln Selectmen back Drumlin Farm capital campaign and chart funding path for tot pool replacement. The Dec. 17 board heard Christy Foote-Smith report that Mass Audubon's $4.7 million "Landscapes for Learning" campaign has raised more than $900,000 in a few months toward a new education center, wildlife care center and rebuilt service barn at Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary. Parks and Recreation Chair Susie Collins and Director Dan Pereira sought guidance on coordinating roughly $180,000 in tot pool replacement funding across the Ogden Codman Trust, CPA and capital planning, after 2012 ADA changes voided a $25,000 repair option. On the failed November school vote, Chair Noah Eckhouse warned that rerunning the project would "threaten the town meeting structure," and Selectman Peter Braun read the MSBA letter as binary: "Same is same and different is not same." The board awarded the town report printing bid to Country Press for $5,395.12.
