Lincoln selectmen waive 61A purchase option on Harrington Millstone Lane lot

LINCOLN -- July 19, 2010, Lincoln Selectmen waive 61A option on Harrington lot and receive draft hazard plan. Chair Gary Taylor and member Sara Mattes, the only selectmen present, voted 2-0 to accept the Conservation Commission's June 28 recommendation and waive the town's right of first refusal on a Millstone Lane house lot owned by Winty and Andrea Harrington. Earlier, MAPC Senior Planner Martin Pillsbury and Fire Chief Arthur Cataudella presented the town's draft Hazard Mitigation Plan, which once adopted will make Lincoln eligible for FEMA grants typically running $50,000 to a few hundred thousand at a 25 percent local match. Town Administrator Tim Higgins confirmed a $140,000 Green Communities Grant award, supplemented by the Codman Trust for a residential pilot, and reported Concord believes it has an in-principle deal with Mass Highway for $7.5 million to $10 million to fix Old Cambridge Turnpike drainage, the bottleneck holding up Crosby's Corner. "Without the letter of denial, without the 100 percent design, Crosby's Corner is in grave jeopardy," Mattes said.
