Planning Board approves Riling Pond plunge pool, reorganizes for new term

LINCOLN — June 23, 2020 — Lincoln Planning Board OKs Riling Pond plunge pool and opens form-based rethink of South Lincoln zoning. The board voted 5-0 on June 23 to find applicant CJ Doherty's modular pool at 14 Riling Pond Road a minor change to the cluster site plan, and 5-0 again to approve the plans as submitted, with the pool sited fully inside the building envelope and outside the 100-foot wetland buffer. The board retained Margaret Olson as chair and Lynn DeLisi as vice chair, 5-0, after newly elected member Bob Domnitz urged deferring the vote; Olson conceded the board "made a number of mistakes with South Lincoln" but said she viewed her role as "facilitating the discussions." On the restructured SLPIC charge, Olson called the failed spring zoning proposal a "failure" and floated form-based zoning, warning that unit-count limits invite developers toward "luxury housing." The draft returns July 14.
