Select Board approves AKA Bistro full liquor license

LINCOLN — October 1, 2012 — Lincoln Select Board unanimously grants AKA Bistro a full liquor license. The board, chaired by Peter Braun and joined by member Renel Frederickson, voted at an 8 a.m. hearing Monday to convert the 145 Lincoln Road restaurant's beer-and-wine license into an on-premises all-alcohol restaurant license — the town's first full liquor license under recently expanded state authority. Police Lt. Kennedy reported no violations or complaints in the restaurant's three years of operation and said the department will begin compliance checks at AKA Bistro and Doherty's. Owner Christian said no physical changes are planned and that French and Japanese tapas will anchor a new bar menu Monday through Thursday. "We take the security of the patrons very seriously," he said, noting all staff will complete TIPS certification by the end of October. The license now awaits state ABCC sign-off.
