Select Board unanimously approves Town Meeting Study Committee charge

LINCOLN — September 30, 2024 — Lincoln Select Board approves Town Meeting Study Committee charge and opens 14-day recruitment. The board voted 3-0 on Sept. 30 to finalize the charge after incorporating edits requested the prior week by member Jennifer Glass, including a rewritten guiding principle oriented toward resident satisfaction and broader deliverables language allowing a future bylaw or warrant article. Glass said she opposes directing the committee toward a home rule petition for remote Town Meeting voting, noting "no other town has had any success doing it." Town Administrator Tim Higgins said applications close Oct. 14, candidate interviews with the Town Moderator are set for Oct. 21 and Oct. 23, and the committee will convene in early November for 12 to 18 months of work. Chair Kim Bodnar called the timeline "aggressive, but doable."
