Selectmen seat three new voter registrars, advance Littleton chief as fire pick

LINCOLN — November 21, 2011 — Lincoln Selectmen seat three new registrars and line up Littleton chief Steve Carter for the fire department. Town Clerk Susan Brooks recommended Deborah Kahn (Democratic seat), Chris Bursaw (Republican seat) and Nancy Zolke (unenrolled) for interim appointments through April 1, 2012, replacing Peggy Elliott, Marshall Sandok and Jackie Snelling, who Brooks said served a combined 74 years. The board approved the slate unanimously. Town Administrator Tim Higgins reported the six-member fire chief search committee unanimously recommended Steve Carter, Littleton's current chief, to succeed retiring Chief Arthur Cattoni, with a formal introduction targeted for Dec. 5. Selectman Peter Braun, calling it "a big decision for this board, for this community," asked to consult committee members before signoff. The board also unanimously approved revised home-rule language converting AKA Bistro's beer-and-wine license to full alcohol, and canceled its Nov. 28 meeting.
