Selectmen sign $1.2 million bond, thank DPW for severe winter response

LINCOLN — April 28, 2014 — Lincoln selectmen lock in 0.839 percent rate on $1.225 million bond and clear path for Turtle Creek Winery. At their April 28 meeting, the board unanimously awarded a five-year general obligation bond to Stifel, Nicolaus & Company covering library fire suppression and MSBA school study costs, with Selectman Peter Braun citing the town's reaffirmed AAA rating. Town Administrator Tim Higgins reported that town counsel and ABCC counsel have agreed in writing that Turtle Creek Winery owner Kip Kumler can apply for a farmer-winery pouring license through an expedited path despite Lincoln's reliance on special acts. Higgins also briefed the board on zoning enforcement reaction at Town Meeting, calling the response to Building Inspector Dan Walsh's tighter posture "palpable." Jerry Frank, new president of the deCordova trustees, said Phillips Oppenheim is running the search to replace departing director Dennis Kois, with a possible January 2015 start.
