Lincoln Select Board appoints town's first female police sergeant

LINCOLN — December 16, 2024 — Lincoln names first female police sergeant, accepts conservation donation, advances landfill solar. The Select Board unanimously appointed Jennifer McNaught — an eight-year Auburn officer, 16-year Army Reservist and Tufts-trained veterinarian — as the Police Department's first woman supervisor on Chief Sean Kennedy's recommendation, also appointing Christine Conrad as public safety dispatcher and bringing the department to full staffing for the first time in two-plus years. The board approved an Eversource grant of location for 25 feet of conduit on Mill Street to interconnect the landfill solar array, which consultant Beth Greenblatt expects online by June. It accepted a 1.4-acre conservation donation from Kevin Maroney off Trapelo Road — to be named "Les Champs de Maroni." Town Administrator Tim Higgins previewed an FY26 base budget at the 2.5 percent guideline with $44,000 in restorations and $221,000 in preferred items, including a 14th patrol officer; dispatch regionalization could save roughly $500,000 annually starting FY27.
