Lincoln Select Board approves March 30 ballot questions on school project

LINCOLN — February 12, 2015 — Lincoln Select Board sets $750,000 school ballot question and reorders 47-article town meeting warrant. The board voted unanimously Feb. 12 to place two questions on the March 30 annual town election: a $750,000 capital exclusion to fund school building project planning and a $75,000 campus master plan study, the latter raised from an initial $50,000 after architects flagged parking, circulation and septic work. School Committee Chair Jennifer Glass told the board the town meeting vote is "the first of three votes that the town would make before anything started." Selectman Peter Braun pressed to keep all financial articles on Saturday morning to protect the 100-voter quorum, warning that pushing them to a Tuesday continuation risked losing the room. The board also heard a $2,500 citizens petition from four Lincoln eighth-graders to clear an overgrown emergency evacuation path behind the Smith School.
