Lincoln School Committee opens superintendent salary talks, withdraws from school choice

LINCOLN — February 12, 2015 — Lincoln School Committee opens superintendent salary talks and again opts out of school choice. After a formative mid-cycle review that produced no substantive criticism, members voted unanimously Feb. 12 to enter salary negotiations with Superintendent Becky McFall, with Chair Jennifer Glass citing "a great deal of satisfaction and support" for her direction. The committee also voted to withdraw from Massachusetts school choice for 2015-16, citing the $5,000-per-student reimbursement against a roughly $18,000 per-pupil expenditure. McFall said Good Friday, April 3, would be the first snow make-up day used, with June 25 added if a second is needed; the district has burned through all five built-in snow days. Members approved warrants totaling $813,238.45 and confirmed a joint $75,000 warrant article for a master campus planning study. Administrator Buck Creel said contractors will shovel targeted roof drifts at both campuses during vacation week.
