Lincoln School Committee approves 2026-27 goals, improvement plan

School Committee · Meeting of September 10, 2026

Lincoln School Committee adopts 2026-27 goals, stalls on alcohol at school-owned fields. Members unanimously approved the district improvement plan, Superintendent Perry Graham's evaluation goals and the committee's own annual goals, while enrollment rose 27 students at Hanscom and 25 at the Lincoln School, including a 55-student kindergarten class Graham called the largest in his tenure. The board also weighed a first-reading "Campus Alcohol Policy" that would let licensed nonprofits serve alcohol at limited fundraisers on school-owned land, spurred by the Brain Games fundraiser losing its usual Pierce House date to a wedding booking.

"Alcohol on school property is something that I think we ought to take some time to do and do right," said member Susan Taylor. On facilities, the district reported $106,000 in newly won federal funding for a Hanscom compressor and steered staff toward a $67,000 retrofit, rather than a $100,000 replacement or $15,000 removal, for a failed Hartwell building chairlift.
