Lincoln Select Board OKs social media policy, Green Energy warrant article
Select Board · Meeting of September 10, 2026
Lincoln learns library HVAC costs jumped $1.2 million ahead of an October town meeting vote. Town Administrator Tim Higgins told the Select Board a ground-source geothermal system now totals $6.25 million before incentives, with a net town cost near $3.7 million, essentially matching a conventional system's $3.67 million net cost. Chair Jim Hutchinson cautioned against declaring the options "similar costs" before the Finance Committee and Community Preservation Committee review the new numbers, saying "it's premature to say that that strongly." Member Kim Bodnar warned residents will ask "how did we get from 330 to 3.67," referring to a simpler $330,000 boiler-only option.
Separately, the board voted unanimously to adopt a revised social media policy, to place a Green Energy Choice Program stabilization fund on the March 2027 town meeting warrant, and to authorize members to finalize a letter to Waltham raising traffic concerns over a proposed 1,200-unit Bay Colony redevelopment.
