Lincoln Select Board Sets October Vote on Library Heating Options
Select Board · Meeting of August 25, 2026
Lincoln Select Board sets up October 24 vote between $2.466 million geothermal library HVAC system and a cheaper boiler-only alternative. Chair Jim Hutchinson said the apples-to-apples cost gap between full geothermal and conventional heating and cooling is roughly $400,000, though the actual choice on the warrant will be geothermal versus a conventional boiler replacement, since no full conventional cooling design yet exists. Assistant Town Administrator Daniel Pereira said updated project data must be "committee-worthy" by Labor Day weekend for Green Energy Committee and Finance Committee review.
Member Jennifer Glass said the board needs postcards and info sessions to "make clear to residents what are the two things that we'll be asking of them at town meeting." The board voted 3-0 to appoint Sophia Camporas and Crystal Wood to the Cultural Council and Bob Cooperstein and Ethan Healy to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and also approved July 13 minutes and August 17 warrants unanimously.
