LINCOLN — The Lincoln School Committee backed a Ballfield Road paving and safety overhaul estimated at $1 million to $2 million, clearing it for Select Board review and eventual town meeting funding. Facilities Director Britton Kelly said the redesign, created by traffic engineer John VanCore, would widen sidewalks, raise crosswalks into speed bumps, and expand parking from five spaces to 11, with construction targeted for summer 2027 "within reason, probably... a 10 to 12 working day project." Members voted 6-0 to approve a seventh-grade overnight trip to Maine's Schoodic Education Adventure, 6-0 to adopt amended fiscal year 2028 budget guidelines, and unanimously adopted the Protect Act policy on second reading. The October 1 enrollment report showed 27 more K-8 students at the Lincoln campus than last year and a 16-student swing between this year's seventh and eighth grades.
