Lincoln Select Board approves Verizon's first small cell antennas at four sites

LINCOLN -- September 27, 2021, Lincoln Select Board approves Verizon's first small cell antennas under 2020 policy. The board unanimously granted Verizon Wireless's petition to install 14-inch antennas on existing utility poles at four locations along Trapelo, Weston and Sandy Pond Roads after attorney Dan Klasnik described the equipment as "similar to a transformer" with "no ground disturbance whatsoever." Consultant David Maxson of Isotrope told the board the application met FCC small-cell volume rules but flagged several town-policy provisions for tightening; member Jonathan Dwyer agreed to lead a policy revision. The board also appointed Rakesh Karmacharya, a returning member, to the Housing Commission, approved transferring a liquor license to Michael Culpo's Tack Room Inc. at the former Real space, and voted to form a working group to recommend uses for roughly $2 million in federal ARPA funds, with Jennifer Glass as the Select Board's representative.
